Russell County's East Alabama Republican Club met at T-Bones Steakhouse & Grill in Phenix City on Thursday, May 2nd of 2024. This month's meeting featured local candidates for office in Russell County as guest speakers which included Kristi Mott who is running for the Russell County Probate Judge position against Democrat Belinda Strickland. Also speaking was Bob Franklin who is running for the office of Russell County Commissioner, District 5 against Democrat Cedric Darrell Darty.

Both candidates spoke about their positions and the reasons they are running as well as taking a few questions from the audience. Trump Delegate for Alabama Terrie Ryan spoke about the Alabama Delegation process. Russell County Executive Chairperson of the Republican Party Peggy S Blackshear spoke about the dismal republican voter turnout during the run-off election on April 16, and brainstormed with the club on how to get out the Republican vote on November 5th, 2024.
