Are You Tired of Living in Mr. Rogers Neighborhood?

Updated: Oct 24, 2023

U.S. Representative Mike Rogers from Alabama's 3rd Congressional District unwisely inserted himself into the high stakes Washington D.C. drama last week over which candidate would be elected as the next Speaker of the House. Fiercely aligned to recently removed former Speaker Kevin McCarthy, Rogers lambasted the eight hard right Republican representatives responsible for the vote to vacate McCarthy's speakership which led to his ouster. Rogers stormed out of a house Republican strategy session, telling reporters on Capitol Hill that his conservative colleagues had "paralyzed" the house and remarked that "They put us in this ditch along with eight traitors." He then went on to express his inclination to cross party lines and work with democratic minority leader Hakeem Jeffries to elect a speaker that liberals would find palatable by saying "We're still the majority party, we're willing to work with them, but they gotta tell us what they need."

Fully earning his RINO wings once and for all with flying colors, Rogers further stated that there was nothing that ultra-conservative Republican representative nominee Jim Jordan could do to gain his support for the speakership in his election against the milquetoast moderate Austin Scott of Georgia. Rogers was adamant in his remarks to the press that the Republican's slim majority in the house made the possibility of a conservative such as Jordan or Steve Scalise being elected speaker a non-starter and emphasized the need to compromise with the democrats in their collective wish for a bipartisan moderate to fill that position. Republican U.S. Senator from Utah Mike Lee blasted Rogers' clumsy brinksmanship in a twitter post which read as follows;

"It’s outrageous that Jim Jordan has been nominated by the party, has the support of McCarthy and McHenry, and yet Mike Rogers and a few House Republicans would rather work with Democrats. If you’re a House Republican, please vote for Jim Jordan—not Hakeem Jeffries."

Republican representative from Georgia Marjorie Taylor Greene addressed Rogers' awkward machinations in a post to her official facebook page as follows;

Rep. Mike Rogers’s ruby red district in Alabama is right next to mine. His voters will not be happy if he makes a deal with Democrats to elect a Speaker in order to block Jim Jordan. Stick with Republicans Mike. Remember your district.

Conservative social media influencers had plenty to say about Mr. Rogers as well.

Closer to home, multiple members of the Alabama G.O.P. executive committee made public via press release their intentions to file a ballot challenge against Rogers for his stated determination to collude with democrats in electing the next speaker. If successful in their efforts to evict him from the Alabama Republican Party, Rogers would be required to register as an independent or more fittingly as a democrat in the next election. All of Rogers' double dealing has occurred against a shameful backdrop of his casting a vote to raise the debt ceiling this past May as well as his bizarre antics during the contentious voting process in January that originally elevated McCarthy to the speakership.

Daily Mail

During that dumbfounding debacle, Republican Representative from Tennessee Tim Burchett described Rogers' needing to be restrained by a fellow congressman after lunging at Representative Matt Gaetz from Florida as being under the influence of alcohol while on the House floor, saying

"People shouldn't be drinking, especially when you're a redneck, on the House floor"

Taking all of this into consideration, the time has come for the constituents of Alabama's 3rd Congressional District to ask ourselves; Are we tired of living in Mr. Rogers Neighborhood?

For many of us, the answer is a resounding YES. Fortunately for the beleaguered conservatives residing in Alabama Congressional District 3, there are signs that a true believer in limited government may be challenging Mr. Rogers in the G.O.P. primary this coming Spring. Michael Tyler Joiner ran against Rogers in the May 2022 Republican primary and a post to his official campaign website which has been dormant until recently hinted at a possible rematch;

District three needs a representative that will focus an Alabama and America. Not someone that continues to vote to give billions of dollars to foreign governments while we have people that can’t pay their light bills and buy groceries here at home!

Providing background on Tyler, as many friends and family members call him, his official website stated;

Michael was born and raised in Pell City and now resides in Ragland with his wife, Mackenzie and their son, Henry. Michael comes from a family of blue-collar workers, and keeps the values of hard work, integrity, and dependability he was taught as a second-generation plumber and small business owner.
Michael is running for Congress because he cares deeply about preserving the rights put forth by the Constitution for all Americans, and especially Alabamians. He pledges to fight to keep our borders secure, and as a man with conviction of faith, also promises to do all he can to protect the unborn.

Rogers is a perfect illustration of a Riley/Felon Hubbard political parasite - i.e., Republican In Normal Operation
